The Batt-Bracket System utilizes batt insulation as continuous insulation for exterior wall or roof assemblies. The system uses full width batts that are typically used for steel framed walls to allow installation over 16″ or 24″ O.C. framing. The insulation is protected by a WRB and a ventilated rain screen for long-lasting durability. Batt Insulation Outside?
Batt Insulation cannot be installed in an area with high risk of exposure to moisture because it has a tendency to absorb and hold moisture. When used with Batt-Brackets and covered with a WRB with high permeability, the batt insulation is protected from bulk water. The ventilated rain screen draws air into the wall, allowing for any moisture that gets behind the WRB to quickly evaporate.
