Batt-Brackets for Continuous Batt Insulation

The Batt-Bracket System utilizes batt insulation as continuous insulation for exterior wall or roof assemblies. The system uses full width batts that are typically used for steel framed walls to allow installation over 16″ or 24″ O.C. framing.  The insulation is protected by a WRB and a ventilated rain screen for long-lasting durability. Designed to handle high wind loads and extreme environmental conditions, Batt-Brackets provide a strong, non-compressible attachment point for furring strips while eliminating thermal bridging. Use easier to install and less expensive insulation for your exterior walls!

The New Way To Use Batt Insulation...

Batt Insulation as Continuous Insulation
Take the easy pass for exterior continuous insulation with Batt-Brackets. Batt insulation is a lower cost alternative to ridged mineral wool board with comparable R-Value. The Batt-Brackets are installed between an air barrier and a WRB, creating a protective cavity for the batt insulation with a high drying potential while maximizing energy efficiency.

Zero Thermal Bridging = Maximum Energy Efficiency
Batt-Brackets allow batt insulation to be used continuously without thermal bridging, achieving maximum performance of the exterior wall insulation, lowering energy bills and providing maximum comfort.

Compatible with All Types of Batt Insulation
Batt-Brackets are compatible with all types of batt insulation including rockwool, fiberglass, wood fiber and more.
The XB-Brackets adaps to your priorities—whether energy
savings, durability, or environmental friendliness.

Lower Cost Insulation
Batt insulation is about a quarter of the cost of
ridged mineral wool board, meaning that a similar
wall assemble will cost less with the Batt-Brakets.

Moisture Protection and Drying
Batt-Brackets are designed to be used with a vapor permeable
WRB that is installed over top of the insulation to protect
the batts from moisture infiltration while allowing outward
drying into the rain screen.

Sound Reduction
Most batt insulation is effective at reducing sound transmission through exterior walls, making the home substantially quieter. Installing batts continuously eliminates sound transmission through wood studs.

Increases Life Span of the Home & Siding
Batt-Brackets encapsulate the home in a continuous layer of insulation with extreme drying potential, protecting the structure from mold and rot. The ventilated rainscreen will help to keep the siding dry, increasing the lifespan of the siding and paint.

For Homeowners

Energy Savings: Lower utility bills with superior insulation and airtight construction.
Durability: Homes built to last, with resistance to mold, rot, and extreme weather.
Comfort: Enjoy consistent temperatures, healthier air quality, and quieter living spaces year-round.
Noise Reduction: Installing batt insulation continuously is more effective at reducing sound than when installed in the cavity.

For Contractors

Low Material Cost: Batt insulation is less expensive than insulation types typically used for exterior insulation.
Easy Installation:
The pre-engineered components eliminate the complexity of the exterior wall insulation.
Non-Compressible: Unlike ridged mineral wool, The Batt-Brackets will not compress, which can cause an uneven wall.
Code-Compliant: Engineered to meet or exceed building codes, ensuring hassle-free approvals.

WRB Over Batt Insulation

                        Batt Insulation Outside?
Batt Insulation cannot be installed in an area with high risk of exposure to moisture because it has a tendency to absorb and hold moisture. When used with Batt-Brackets and covered with a WRB with high permeability, the batt insulation is protected from bulk water. The ventilated rain screen draws air into the wall, allowing for any moisture that gets behind the WRB to quickly evaporate.

Installing batt with the Batt Bracket

                        Benefits of Batt Insulation:
    • Low cost insulation option
    • The ventilated rainscreen draws moisture out of the
       insulation through the WRB
    • The wall is breatheable and can easily dry to the outside
    • Most batt insulation is environmentally friendly
    • Batt insulation is really good for noise reduction
