If you’re looking for an affordable, fast, and easy answer to a housing, office, or classroom space problem, a shipping container conversion might just be the answer. The plans for your project will invariably include an insulation component, and InSoFast, LLC, provides a few different methods for your consideration.
Each of our insulation series relies on using closed-cell, injection-molded Expanded Polystyrene foam. InSoFast insulation comes in series of panels, inserts, and low-profile studs to work with shipping container conversions. Any of the systems we offer will effectively stop condensation, stabilize internal temperatures, and stifle loud noises – all of the primary challenges faced with a metal box transformation. Option One: InSoFast CX LowPro Insulated Studs
Introducing InSoFast CX LowPro Studs, a solution for the high cost of shipping bulky shipping container insulation panels. We provide the EPS protected, non-ferrous stud, and you’ll apply it along the ridges of the corrugation. Then, you’ll fill the empty, corrugated spaces with our InSoFast Inserts. Next, you’ll follow up with the rigid insulation foam board of your choice and an application of spray foam insulation along the gaps, edges, and seams.
Option Two: InSoFast InSerts Paired with InSoFast Insulation Interior Panels
InSoFast InSerts are also used with regular interior panels. The inserts are applied within the corrugated spaces, creating a flush, flat surface. Then, your choice of interior panels, either the InSoFast UX 2.0 or EXi 2.5 follows. The resulting system is airtight, with no room for cold air left in the spaces behind the insulating panels.
Option Three: InSoFast CX Shipping Container Panels
These 24×44” panels offer a space-saving, thin profile at 2” deep. They also include the embedded studs as other InSoFast panels do. Following an 11-inch repeating pattern, the CX shipping container panels should be installed horizontally with a running bond pattern so that the studs line up perfectly against the ridges of the container’s corrugation.
When choosing which of the available InSoFast insulation products are right for your project, it’s best to consider whether you plan to run services like electricity to the container. If not, the CX LowPro Studs will suffice and save money on shipping, but if you are, the panel option remains the best choice.
