A repurposed shipping container can be well used as a home, office, retail space, mobile concession stand, and so much more. Transforming the container from a steel box into a usable structure requires thinking outside of the box, and insulating the shipping container floor with InSoFast insulation panels is an easy step you can take to facilitate temperature control, improve air quality, and even moderate the noise of heavy footsteps.

Shipping container transformations aren’t without challenges. The steel of the container allows temperatures to transition from cold to hot quickly. As the outside temperatures fluctuate, the interior will as well, making the inside unlivable during the midst of summer or winter.
The steel of the container is also subject to condensation. The cycle of evaporation, vapor, and condensation will create moisture and rust that could ruin the entire structure. In addition, if you choose other insulation options, this cycle will destroy the insulation and leave it worthless except as fodder for mold and mildew to grow.
Installing insulation solves all of the problems related to the steel of the structure. We offer several insulation panels that you can easily apply to the floor of the container. None of them require extra help or specialized tools, and they can be in and done within mere minutes.
This panel has a 2” thickness and can be affixed straight onto the floor of the shipping container. The product has an R-value of 11 and includes built-in embedded studs for strength. Not only will the product warm the floor, but the service channels will also facilitate floor warming mechanisms if appropriate.
The base level interior panel can be applied directly to the floor of the shipping container. It has an R-value of 8.5, built-in polypropylene studs, and a 2” thickness.
The EXi 2.5 panel is 20% more effective than the UX 2.0 panel. It is ½” thicker and facilitates a tighter connection for more effective insulation due to the deeper embedded studs and the tongue-and-groove notched alignment edges. The tight fit and thicker panel allow for stronger insulation.
InSoFast insulation panels are made at our factories in Massachusetts, Idaho, and Minnesota, and from there, they ship directly to project sites across the nation. We even waive shipping fees for destinations within the Lower 48 states.
