Exterior Masonry Wall Insulation

The addition of exterior insulation to a masonry wall can be troublesome if you choose the wrong product, but InSoFast exterior insulation panels are the right choice. Not only are these panels incredibly energy efficient, but they also cater to the needs of DIY-motivated homeowners with limited time and budgets.

Closed-cell Expanded Polystyrene foam, injection-molded into precise, engineered panels, InSoFast insulation panels meet the needs of these homeowners.

Since 2006 when operations began, InSoFast, LLC, has manufactured panels of insulation that provide solutions to a host of complications while outperforming the fiberglass insulation competition even when labeled with higher R-values. When you place an order, we will ship the panels for free directly from our factories in Massachusetts, Idaho, and Minnesota to project sites in the Lower 48.

InSoFast Exterior Continuous Insulation

Panels of InSoFast exterior insulation piece together into a continuous insulation system. The notched alignment edges featured on the panels keep the system straight and true while also preventing installation mistakes. With CI insulation, the insulation wall will avoid thermal bridges that allow air to pass in and out, and the moisture control channels on each side of the panel will protect from moisture becoming trapped within the wall cavity. The panels are also non-absorbent, so worries about mold and mildew development are greatly diminished.

After installing the InSoFast panels, you’ll need to add finishing materials. The embedded studs within the panels are made of polypropylene and can support up to 250 pounds each, with the strength of a 20-gauge steel stud.

The finishing materials that you apply will need to be 2” or less. You can choose from a range of materials including vinyl siding, stucco, stone, thin brick, and many more. Since these materials all post to the same built-in framing system, you can choose a diverse combination of cladding materials for the same structure.

Prepare to install InSoFast panels by gathering a full supply of panels, a utility knife and saw for modification of the panels, masonry adhesive, and canned spray foam. The canned spray foam will seal up any tiny gaps as well as the edges, and you can remove the excess once it has cured.

If your application is to a concrete wall or another absorbent material, make sure that you waterproof the home. A system of InSoFast insulation will serve as a secondary weather barrier, but it will not fully protect from weather intrusion.

Demo of the exterior wall is unnecessary with InSoFast insulation. The trim, paint, and other features can remain while the system of insulation surrounds the home. With other insulation measures, you’ll have to open up the wall.
