Insulating Concrete Exterior Walls

Should a portion of your home be constructed using concrete, insulating the exterior walls with InSoFast insulation panels is your best option for upgrading the entire home’s exterior with a universally appropriate, affordable, and effective product.

When deciding whether you should insulate the interior or exterior of your home, you should consider the costs, convenience, aesthetic, and technical matters that might obstruct either application. The efficiency of the system will not be significantly different.

Installing InSoFast insulation panels on the exterior wall has several advantages including the following:

  • Creates continuous insulation that doesn’t have any thermal bridging
  • Provides a weather screen assembly and Class III Vapor Barrier
  • Effectively stabilizes temperatures
  • Lowers utility costs
  • Maintains interior space
  • Lessens condensation and moisture issues due to non-porosity of the panel and dual-sided drainage channels on each panel
  • Can be installed directly over existing house wrap or weather screen assembly
  • Appropriate for use with both existing and new windows
  • Does not require removal of wood siding or trim boards
  • Can cover lead paint without any abatement required
  • Lack of demolition means little waste and no dumpster rental needed
  • Appropriate for use with a range of finishing options
  • Chemically and physically stable – panels won’t degrade or settle over time

Insulating Concrete Exterior Walls

Interior applications of insulation are often assumed to be less expensive than exterior applications. When all costs are considered, however, the expenses are often greater for interior installation. InSoFast insulation panels provide benefits to both interior and exterior applications, so your individual property should be the deciding factor.

Our company’s products are geared toward energy efficiency that meets and exceeds existing and future energy regulations. The panels, and the systems they compose, outperform competing insulation with greater R-values and make various processes of construction simpler, including framing and running electricity.

Headquartered in South Dakota with offices in Pennsylvania, our production and shipping facilities are in Massachusetts, Minnesota, and Idaho. InSoFast insulation panels are American-made and shipped directly from our factories to destinations throughout the United States.

Introducing InSoFast EXe 2.5 Exterior Insulation Panels

The InSoFast insulation systems offer continuous insulation created by installing 2’x4’ panels. The non-porous, closed-cell EPS foam panels apply directly over the wall with no thermal bridging occurring due to the included, embedded, non-ferrous studs. The closed-cell foam is twice as insulating per square inch as open-cell insulation technology.

The exterior panel that we offer has an R-10 energy efficiency and is designed for use on exterior wall surfaces. The panels are 2.5” deep with recessed studs, so the system will bridge irregularities common to concrete walls.

This product is ideal for exterior use because of the ease of installation of the panels themselves as well as the necessary finishing products. Siding, thin brick, tile, stone, stucco, and more can be directly attached to the EXe 2.5 panel’s studs. These studs are as strong as 20-gauge steel studs with the thermal protection of insulation combined with non-conductivity.

Insulating concrete exterior walls with InSoFast insulation panels is a superior method of making your home more comfortable and durable. This upgrade is one that you can perform yourself, removing labor costs from the equation.
