Insulated Ceiling Panels

Easy to handle and cost-effective!

Warm up your chilly basement with insulated ceiling panels from InSoFast. Most jobs can be installed with little more than a hand saw, a utility knife, glue and a caulk gun!

What is InSoFast?

InSoFast is a style of engineered continuous insulation that comes in 2-foot x 4-foot interlocking panels of varying depths. The closed-cell EPS foam insulation is non-porous, making it difficult for water vapor and air to pass through it, and has the stud framing built in. .

EPS is a non-toxic, inert insulation that is stronger and denser than open-cell foam and provides higher insulating R-value per inch. The panel’s foam body is a fire-retardant material and serves as a Class III vapor barrier.

InSoFast UX 2.0 Panels are ideal for both DIY residential projects and large-scale commercial projects and are suitable for insulating interior walls, floors and ceilings. Their continuous R-value of 8.5 outperforms traditionally framed R-13 batt walls.

Insulated Ceiling Panels

Each panel is 2-inches thick with a flat surface that exposes the face of the embedded studs. With rot-resistant framing, drainage channels, electrical raceways, and a simple, stackable interlocking design, the UX 2.0 panel is exceptionally cost-effective for base-level code requirements.

For a higher R-value, you can install the InSoFast EXi 2.5 panel. These 2 ½-inch thick panels have a continuous R-value of 10 that outperform traditionally framed R-15 batt walls.

Panels can be attached to the ceiling with PL Premium 3X Construction Adhesive. Third party testing shows that the strength of a single bead of adhesive is over 800 pounds per foot, or equivalent to concrete screws 6″ O.C. However, it is up to your local building code official to determine if additional mechanical attachment is required.

The panels will be mechanically locked in place as soon as the adhesive sets in the hundreds of interlocking dovetails on the back of the stud. A mechanical fastener can be used to support the panels and hold them in place until the adhesive has set.

As with all foam insulation products, a 15-minute thermal barrier, such as 1/2″ drywall, is required and is installed over InSoFast ceiling panels in the same way as traditional wood framing. The ceiling drywall will be locked in place when drywall is applied to the walls.
