InSoFast X-Brackets

InSoFast X‑Brackets are an engineered system of thermally broken standoff brackets that create continuous layer of exterior insulation while eliminating thermal bridging. Compatible with both closed-cell spray foam and blown-in insulation, X-Brackets are available in sizes ranging from 2.5″ to 9.5″ and fasten directly to wood, metal, or concrete. Integrated cross‑ventilated rainscreen channels moisture away and promotes drying, improving durability and mold resistance. Pre‑engineered for wind loads in excess of 200mph, the system supports standard furring and cladding, speeds up installation, and reduces labor. The X‑Bracket line delivers a fast, durable, code-compliant and energy‑efficient solution for walls, roofs, basements, and shipping containers.

InSoFast X-Brackets

Unlock new possibilities in exterior continuous insulation with X-Brackets! Designed to use closed‑cell spray foam or blown‑in insulation as continuous insulation, the X‑Bracket approach lets builders achieve targeted R‑values by selecting bracket depth and insulation type rather than increasing the wall cavity depth. That flexibility makes the system practical and cost‑effective for projects that need improved thermal performance without complex details.

A core advantage is zero thermal bridging: brackets are engineered to avoid conductive paths through the insulation, improving whole‑wall performance. When used one the exterior of the home, the cross‑ventilated rainscreen promotes drying and reduces condensation risk—key benefits for long‑term durability and mold prevention in CEI applications.

The X‑Bracket family is pre‑engineered for high wind loads and extreme climates, with roof‑specific guidance and detailing to maintain performance in storm‑prone areas. Its rainscreen and ventilation features are integrated into both wall and roof applications to manage moisture from the base of the wall to the roof peak.

Installation is straightforward: brackets fasten with common fasteners or adhesives to wood, metal, or concrete, and accept standard furring strips and cladding systems. The installation guide walks through spray‑foam and blown‑in workflows, layout, and project estimation so crews and DIYers can plan material quantities and sequencing with confidence.

X-Brackets can be installed on exterior walls, roof, basements, floors & shipping containers.

Box Coverage:

Below are approximate box coverage. Coverage will vary, with simple homes having more coverage and more complex custom homes having less coverage. We recommend completing a detailed takeoff or use our X-Bracket Calculator.

Framing Spacing (Horizontal) Bracket Spacing (Vertical) Aprox. Coverage
16″ 48″ 77 to 97 sf
24″ 48″ 116 to 136 sf

Attachment Methods:

Wood framing: Brackets are attached to the framing with construction screws or ring-shank nails.

Steel Framing: Brackets are attached to the framing with drill-tipped screws.

Concrete: Brackets are attached with concrete screws or Loctite PL Premium 3X construction adhesive (only the 2.5″, 3.75″ & 5.5″brackets are compatible with construction adhesive).
